Why is European Commissioner Viviane Reding threatening to mandate DVB-H as the mobile TV standard when her usual preference is for technology neutrality? Secondly, she believes a single standard is necessary to achieve the economies of scale needed to make mobile TV a success. Thirdly, she isn't confident that industry will agree a common standard on its own.
